Last Saturday I joined some members of my photo Meetup group to photograph the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, CA (an architectural wonder) and the event ended in the evening at the Mountain View Cemetery. This cemetery has a history going back to 1863 and includes a section of family crypts and graves known as Millionaires Row. At the highest elevation you can get a great view of San Francisco so I shot a panoramic view of San Francisco from that point.
Following are some door photos of some these wealthy residents’ crypts.

Thanks for visiting my blog and thanks to Norm 2.0 for his Thursday Doors blog. For more blogs and photos of doors by others please go to: Thursday Doors.
Great shots. As odd as it may seem, cemeteries have lots of beautiful doors.

Thanks Norm. You’re correct on that; the only thing that made us quit shooting was the sun starting to set and we didn’t want to be in the cemetery at night.

Those crypts have some neat doors! I’ve not seen too many around the Bay Area. They must cost a fortune! Looks like you all had a really neat meet-up,

Thanks Deborah. It was a fun shoot but long day (started out at 8 am and returned home at 8 pm).

I wish I signed up for it now. It looks like I missed a good meet-up!

I really like walking through cemeteries and the beautiful, detailed crypts are part of that. There are beautiful – especially the Stanyan which looks like a tiny castle.
