Abandoned but Still There

Here’s another photo to share from Coulterville, CA along Route 49.  It was an old General Store and appeared abandoned and shuttered.  Since we found this place on a detour I shot it quickly so we could get back on the road.  The door and window was facing the parking lot but I think the entrance was around the corner and I probably would have had another interesting perspective if I walked around the building.  It will just have to remain a reason to go back there someday for a photo shoot and doorscursion.

Thanks for visiting my blog and thanks to Norm 2.0 for his Thursday Doors blog.  For more blogs and photos of doors by others please go to: Thursday Doors.

    1. Thanks Deborah; when you think about it life is like an onion, when you peel it you always find something underneath each layer so we always have to return to discover something new.

BTW, got my wife and sister-in-law to go to Alviso to shoot the hummer and chicks (those chicks grow so fast, 3-4 days later they have fluffy feathers and they’re getting big).

      1. They’ll be too big for the nest soon and will fledge! I’d like to see that. The weather has been awful though, and #1 Grandson probably wouldn’t want to hang about waiting for something to happen.
