Door in Talkeetna, Alaska

Sorry for the hiatus from the Thursday Door blog but I was in Alaska and Vancouver, BC the past two weeks (first time in Alaska).  I’m rushing to get this post up today and selected this photo but I know I shot more doors during the trip.  It was an old narrow door on a red-painted building on a residential property and I’m not sure what it was used for but it caught my eye.

Walking through the town of Talkeetna, AK, a stop on our travel from Anchorage to Denali, was fun.  A local from Alaska suggested we visit there and described it as an old hippy town (I agree with that description) and it’s a tourist destination for families, outdoor enthusiasts (rafting, hunting and fishing) , motorcycle bikers, etc.  Lots of small restaurants and a great location for photography if you have the time (unfortunately, we didn’t have much time as we still had a long drive to Denali that day).

This photo is from the General Store’s sign (I think it captures the flavor of what you might see here).

Another quickly edited photo of the Antler Outpost Store (a horny but colorful place).
